BGMEA Holds Press Briefing on Progress in RMG Industry

The RMG industry of Bangladesh has made visible progress on labour and safety issues, BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman said at press conference held on January 26.

BGMEA organized the event at its conference room to brief the media about the development made in the apparel sector since the signing of ‘Sustainability Compact’.

The Sustainability Compact is an agreement between the EU and the Bangladeshi government with the support of the ILO that was signed in 2013. It aims to promote improvements in labour rights and factory safety in the ready-made garment and knitwear industry in Bangladesh.

BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, and Directors of BGMEA were present the press conference.
