Feminine beauty, adorned in exquisite lace, is even more beautiful and enchanting than the babbling brooks, the first rays of the sun and the opening buds of Nature described in Goethe’s famous Easter Walk poem. The following pattern examples are designed to awaken a real feeling of spring.
The eye-catching, full-width fabric, with its modern, geometric, arching design in shades of silver and blue shown in Figure 1, evokes a feeling of waves, water and the sheer exuberance of Life. This lace was worked on a JL 40F in the crosswise direction. It has a Leavers-like pattern in the ground, which was produced by the split jacquard bars working a counter notation. This requires two separate beams to be drawn-in separately. The sweeping, wavy stripes of the JL pattern are joined by pillar stitches, which can be used as separating points. The clever design enables bordered fabrics with attractive edges to be produced as well as bands. In both cases, the fabric is extremely dimensionally stable and the polyamide yarns produce a soft handle – giving an extra touch of style to women’s outerwear in particular.
Soft green and a reawakening of Nature are the themes of the classic Jacquardtronic® pattern shown in Figure 2. This design is awash with decorative flowers and leaves. The styling of this attractive lace band features a beautiful three-dimensional look, which is reminiscent of the product repertoire of a high-bar raschel machine – in this case, a JL 83. To produce these striking 3D effects, the Jacquardtronic® Lace processed textured polyamide yarns in sets of three as liners – similar to the needlerun technique. The fact that the liner yarn is made up of several yarns creates an effect in graduated shades of green. A shiny, high-twist, organzine polyamide yarn produces a uniform, shiny, smooth surface in the filled-in areas of the motifs.
