Luncheon-Meeting
A Luncheon-Meeting with European Parliament Delegation and BGMEA Leaders has been held on 15th November 2016 at The Westin Hotel, Gulshan, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The meeting has been organized by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
A member of delegation of International Trade Committee of the European has present there. They are Mr. Bernd Lange (INTA Chair, S&D), Mr. Agnes Jongerius, Mr. Hannu Takkula, Mr. Adam Szejnfeld, Mr. Boleslaw Piecha, Mr. Jean Lambert (Chair of the Delegation South Asia), Mr. Felix Lutz, Mr. Kadri Paris, Mr. Christopher Williams, Mr. Ursa Pondelek, Mr. Alexander Boyd, Mr. Martin Koehler, Mr. Wojciech Skrzypczak, Mr. Maciej Szajnicki. H. E. Pierre Mayaudon (Ambassador), Mr. Konstantinos Vardakis (Minister Counsellor) and Mr. Abu Syed Belel (Trade Advisor).
Also, Mr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman (President, BGMEA), Mr. Md. Shafiul Islam (First Vice President FBCCI & Former President, BGMEA), Mr. Md. Atiqul Islam, Former President, BGMEA), Mr. Faruque Hassan (Senior Vice President, BGMEA), Mr. S. M. Mannan – Kochi (Vice President, BGMEA), Mr. Mohammed Nasir (Vice President-Finance, BGMEA), Mr. Mahmud Hasan Khan-Babu (Vice President, BGMEA) and other BGMEA Directors were present there.
They have discussed different issues related to the RMG industry and apparel exports to the EU. The BGMEA leaders appraised the delegation of the progress made by Bangladesh in safety and remediation in the RMG industry. The delegation expressed their satisfaction on the achievements.
