Meeting Between EU Parliamentary Delegation and BGMEA

A Press Briefing has been held on 27 March 2017 at The Westin Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh on meeting between EU Parliamentary Delegation and BGMEA. It has been organized by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

Mr. Are Lietz (Member, S&D Co-rapporteur on the Garment Report, Germany), Ms. Linda Mc Avan (Member, EP Chair of the Development Committee, United Kingdom), Mr. Norbert Neuser (Member, S&D Development Coordinator, Germany), Ms. Agnes Jongerius, (Member, S&D INTA, Netherlands), Mr. Rose Bagudu (Administrator, Secretariat of European Parliament), Mr. Martha Polusik (Administrator, Secretariat of European Parliament), H.E. Pierre Mayaudon (Ambassador, EU Delegation to Bangladesh), Mr. Konstantions Vardakis (Minister Counsellor EU Delegation to Bangladesh), Mr. Abu Syed Belal (Trade Adviser, EU Delegation to Bangladesh), Mr. Ioannis Kleisiaris (Regional Security Officer, EU Delegation to Bangladesh), Mr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman (President, BGMEA, Bangladesh), Mr. Mohammed Nasir (Vice President-Finance, BGMEA), Mr. Mahmud Hasan Khan – Babu (Vice President, BGMEA) and others were present there.

It was the investigation for environment of Readymade Garments and other industry in Bangladesh. Both have open discussion about Labor Law. BGMEA has already started work according suggestion by Bangladesh Government and European Union (EU). EU Parliamentary Delegation will discuss with government and other delegates. Finally, they will remark by press conference.
