DCCI Urges Korean Investors to Invest in Bangladesh

KOTRA, Dhaka, Commercial Section of the Embassy of Republic of Korea in cooperation with Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) organized a business to business (B2B) meeting with the visiting Korean used machinery delegation on 1 st of September, 2016 at DCCI.

Director General of KOTRA, Dhaka Jinhak Hur, leader of the Korean delegation Ma, Seung-Rok and DCCI President Hossain Khaled were present during the kick off session of B2B. Six South Korean companies and 50 Bangladeshi companies participated in the B2B.

DCCI President Hossain Khaled in his welcome speech said Bangladesh is a land of huge investment potentials. Bangladesh has an emerging market of RMG, Textile, Leather, Ship-building, Pharmaceuticals, IT& ICT sector, he said. Hossain Khaled urged the Korean investors to invest in Bangladesh in the form of FDI or joint ventures. He said to attain the double digit GDP growth, Bangladesh needs investments both local and foreign. He also said Bangladesh government offers attractive incentive and packages for the foreign investors specially investing in the economic zones. Hossain Khaled said DCCI would extend its cooperation to find out potential Bangladeshi partners to match with the Korean investors including relocating of industries to Bangladesh.

Director General of KOTRA, Dhaka Jinhak Hur said Bangladesh is a potential market for Korean used machinery. To expedite marketing of Korean used machinery, KOTRA will extend its cooperation to both Bangladeshi and Korean businessmen. He said in last November B2B like this one was held in Korea where 11 Bangladeshi companies took part and showed their keen interest to use Korean used machinery. He said exchange of these used machinery will help boost production and bilateral trade between Bangladesh and South Korea.

DCCIs Senior Vice President Humayun Rashid, Vice President K. Atique-e- Rabbani, Directors AKD Khair Mohammad Khan, Salim Akhter Khan, S Rumi Saifullah and Secretary General AHM Rezaul Kabir were also present on the occassion.
